Mohair is a natural fiber that requires the utmost care...

Since hair reflects the health of any animal, the Angora goats must be pampered first! The healthier and more balanced their lifestyle, the better their mohair will be.

The genetic work carried out collaboratively by French breeders since the 1990s has also significantly contributed to the quality of today's French mohair.

We cooperate in the processing of raw mohair into yarn and finished products through an agricultural cooperative: SICA Mohair, managed by Angora goat breeders.

The goats are sheared twice a year, and then each breeder carefully sorts their fleeces by hand (according to the fineness of the fiber and the shape of the strands). This crucial step requires considerable time and expertise. All our fleeces are then entrusted to SICA Mohair, which acts as a link between the breeders and the various manufacturers: artisanal companies specializing in the production of high-end textiles.

Our mohair is washed, carded, combed, and spun in Northern Italy (by Pettinatura di Verone and Polipeli), then dyed in Mazamet (by PLO) according to European REACH environmental standards, before finally being knitted or woven in French family businesses. The yarn (skeins or cones) and finished products are then returned to each breeder.

The textile industry is fragile. It requires rare expertise and tools. This cooperation through SICA is invaluable to us: it guarantees the quality of our products and allows us to contribute to the preservation of a little-known sector of artisanal textile companies.

The fiber obtained through this cooperation is labeled "Mohair des Fermes de France" (Mohair from French Farms). It meets a demanding quality charter. This label guarantees the origin and quality of the mohair.

Mohair is a living fiber that absorbs air, forming an insulating layer between your skin and the outside environment, protecting you from both heat and cold. It's a breathable material: it absorbs moisture from the body and wicks it away (it's breathable), while also being water-repellent. It's also a renewable resource produced by healthy animals, both male and female!

The term "mohair" is believed to come from the Arabic-Persian verb "mukhayyar," meaning "the chosen one," the most beautiful...
